Before you can use these installers you need to download and install the Java Runtime Environment (version 1.5 or higher) from Sun Microsystems.
Windows users who can't use the jars should download the exe installers instead. The exe files were created using Launch4J. Windows 95/98/ME are not supported, the installer will probably run but some functionality may be unavailable.
Linux users can use the shell script versions. The shell script may need to be marked as executable before it can be run.
If double clicking the jar file does not start the installer or the jar file opens in an archiving application, you have to open a command prompt (on Windows) or the console (on Linux) and enter the command:
javainstallationpath\bin\java -jar jarfilepath
Where javainstallationpath is the location where the Java Runtime Environment is installed and jarfilepath is the location of the jar file you downloaded.
Apple OSX users can get a 1.5 Java Runtime Environment from the Apple website.
